Sperry Cups on the Floor

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Acrylic on 10 x 12 Heavy Stock Paper Nov. 2005
I was challenged by my friend Ed to create a painting with both more than one shoe and a context of some sort, rather than the graphic type of images I have been developing. A good start in my opinion, thanks Ed!

Nike Blazers

Acrylic on 24 x 30 canvas October 2005

This was my first large scale painting and it was really different working that large and also trying to interpret the shoe as a graphic element and not as a "shoe"

Puma Maya

Acrylic on 16x20 canvas

An early painting of a great womens crosstrainer collection which was ultimately dropped. I like the heel view and the background is actually the shape of the heel lug on the shoe. The circle was my theme for that collection, representing the softness of women (while kicking ass at the gym)

Acrylic on 16 x 20 canvas August 2005

This painting is of one of my first rojects at STS, a womens athletic take on a boat shoe. I like the relatively loose style and the 4 part background

Sperry Top-Sider Nautilux

This is the 3rd or 4th painting I had done. I had started doing all of my own designs and this is one of my favorites designs from Fall 2006, the Sperry Top-Sider Nautilux Lace to Toe. This shoe is a luxury hybrid combining boat shoe details with classic athletic constructions in oily crazy horse leather and full pigskin leather linings. The paining is loose but i love the background and the way it highlights the shoe as if theres a spotlight behind it.

Nike Dunk ID Studio

Acrylic on 5 x 7 canvas October 2005

An interesting POV, a close up of the Dunks I customized on a recent trip to the NIKE ID Studio in Soho. Thats not a close up of a larger painting, that's it. One of my favorites, and it's now on display at the Nike ID Studio in NY. I gave it to my design consultant there, George who rocks mad joints!

This is actually 4 8" x 10" paintings set into one frame. I am showing a comparison of 2 styles in each shoe, brush vs. sponge on the Vengeance and sponge vs. palette knife on the Air 180

Puma Scrill

Acrylic on 16" x 20" canvas - brush

One of my biggest shoes from my Puma days, the climbing shoe inspired Scrill. This shoe was featured in Puma's frist ever US TV commerical. Remember the one with the ants carrying off the green shoe? That was my design...

I did this with a palette knife, my 2nd attempt in that style. This one has been very well received.
